Last Updated: [8th April 2026]

SimplyLila (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website simplylila.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have over your data.

By using this Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Site.

Who We Are

This Site is owned and operated by Lila, trading as SimplyLila, based in Mexico.

What Information We Collect

We collect information in two ways: information you provide to us directly, and information collected automatically when you visit the Site.

Information You Provide Directly

When you subscribe to our email list, download a free PDF guide, or purchase a digital product, we collect your name and email address. If you contact us via a contact form or email, we retain that correspondence.

If you leave a comment on the Site, we collect the data shown in the comment form, including your name, email address, optional website URL, and the comment text itself. Your IP address and browser user agent string are also collected to assist with spam detection.

If you submit a recipe rating, we collect your IP address and store a cookie to prevent duplicate or fraudulent ratings.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, certain technical information is collected automatically. This includes your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited, time and duration of visits, and general geographic location derived from your IP address. This information is collected through cookies, analytics tools, and our hosting infrastructure.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use cookies for several purposes, described below.

WordPress core cookies are set when you leave a comment, log in, or visit the login page. Comment cookies store your name, email, and website for one year so you do not need to re-enter them. Login cookies last two days by default, or two weeks if you select “Remember Me.” A temporary cookie is set when you visit the login page to check whether your browser accepts cookies; this cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. An additional cookie is set when you publish or edit a post; it contains only the post ID and expires after one day.

Recipe rating cookies (WP Recipe Maker) are stored for 30 days and record whether you have already rated a particular recipe. This is used to prevent rating spam.

Analytics cookies are set by Google Analytics (Google LLC) to help us understand how visitors use the Site. Google Analytics collects information about pages visited, time spent, and general location. Google may process this data in the United States. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at any time via Google’s opt-out browser add-on or by adjusting your browser cookie settings.

Advertising cookies are set by Journey by Mediavine, our display advertising partner. Mediavine and its advertising technology partners use cookies to serve advertisements that may be relevant to your interests, based on your browsing behaviour across sites. You can opt out of interest-based advertising via the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out tool or the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out tool. Mediavine’s privacy policy is available at mediavine.com.

Affiliate tracking cookies are set when you click affiliate links on this Site. These allow our affiliate partners, including Amazon Associates and Impact.com, to attribute referrals so we may earn a commission. These cookies do not collect personal information beyond what is necessary for referral attribution.

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Please be aware that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of this Site.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Deliver the Site content, free PDF guides, and digital products you have requested
  • Send you email newsletters and promotional communications where you have opted in
  • Understand how visitors use the Site in order to improve it
  • Serve display advertising through Journey by Mediavine and its technology partners
  • Prevent spam, abuse, and fraudulent activity
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Email Marketing and MailerLite

If you subscribe to our email list, download a free guide, or purchase a digital product, your name and email address will be stored and processed by MailerLite, our email marketing platform. MailerLite is based in Lithuania and processes data in compliance with GDPR. Their privacy policy is available at mailerlite.com.

We use your email address to send you content updates, product announcements, and promotional emails. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every email we send.

We do not add anyone to our mailing list without their explicit opt-in consent.

Digital Products and Stan Store

If you purchase or download a digital product through our Stan Store storefront, your transaction is processed by Stan Store (operated by Stan, Inc.). Stan Store may collect your name, email address, and payment details to fulfil your order. We receive your name and email address in connection with purchases. We do not store or have access to your payment card details. Stan Store’s privacy policy is available at stan.store.

This Site participates in affiliate programmes including Amazon Associates and the Impact.com affiliate network. We earn a commission when you make a qualifying purchase through an affiliate link on this Site, at no additional cost to you.

When you click an affiliate link, you are redirected to a third-party website. We have no control over the privacy practices or content of those sites and encourage you to review their individual privacy policies.

As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon’s privacy notice is available at amazon.com/privacy.

Embedded Content

Articles on this Site may include embedded content such as videos or images hosted on third-party platforms. Embedded content behaves as though you have visited those third-party websites directly.

Those sites may collect data about you, set cookies, embed additional tracking, and monitor your interaction with that content, including if you have an account and are logged in to that platform.

Comments

When you leave a comment, the comment text, your name, email address, optional website URL, IP address, and browser user agent are stored. An anonymised hash of your email address may be shared with the Gravatar service to retrieve your profile picture if you use Gravatar. Gravatar’s privacy policy is available at automattic.com/privacy. Comments and their associated metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognise and approve follow-up comments automatically rather than holding them in a moderation queue.

Visitor comments may also be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Media Uploads

If you upload images to the Site, you should avoid uploading images that contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors may be able to download and extract any location data from images published on the Site.
